Guzaarish


Guzaarish starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in leading roles is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Rai has previously worked with Bhansali in two hit films, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) and Devdas. Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai have starred in two movies together, Dhoom 2 and Jodhaa Akbar, both of which were successful. The two are known for displaying amazing on-screen chemistry.

The movie will revolve around the story of a married nurse (Aishwarya Rai) and the paraplegic, wheelchair-using patient (Hrithik Roshan), suffering from impairments of the motor and sensory functions of the lower limbs, with whom she falls in love.

Guzaarish has so far been compared to Who's life is it anyway? (1981), The Sea Inside (2004) , The Prestige (2006) and The Painted Veil (2006). Two of which tackle Euthanasia and Mercy Killing.

It has been reported that both Hrithik and Aishwarya will sing a song for the movie together. The song will be recorded by Bhansali himself. This will be the first time Roshan will ever sing for a movie. It is said that he will now sing a song for his next releasing movie, Kites. The pair are said to be learning Portuguese for the movie as well.

Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai


Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai is directed by Milan Luthria and starring Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi, Prachi Desai, and Kangana Ranaut.Currently under production by Balaji Telefilms and Popcorn Entertainment, the film is planned for a July 30,2010 release.

The film is based on the history of Haji Mastan the first celebrity "Don" of India who later reformed, and is about the early gangster and smuggling phase in Mumbai, in the 60s and 70s and revolves around the birth of Mumbai Mafia in the 70s and 80s. Mastan was responsible in introducing Dawood to world of crime and gradually passed him the power, himself retiring to path of amendment.

Parallel to the main plot will be the story of Mastan's unrequited love during the 60s for Indian actress Madhubala.She never returned his feelings, and after her death in 1969, Mastan was devastated. He later married starlet Sona, a Madhubala look-a-like who he later launched in films.Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif had been initially considered for the role opposite Devgan, but Milan Luthria decided to cast Kangana Ranaut who will be playing the character inspired by Madhubala and Haji Mastan's wife Sona.

The film will cover the entire growth of the Mumbai underworld, from crime and smuggling in its early stages through its connection with international terrorism in recent times.

Seen through the eyes of a police officer, ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai’ traces the changing face of the Mumbai underworld. The film, set primarily in 1970 Mumbai, follows the rise of Sultan (Ajay Devgan), and his eventual fall, when his protégé Shoaib (Emraan Hashmi), challenges his supremacy, and usurps power to rule the murky underbelly of Mumbai.

The film is treated in an avante garde fashion, bursting with color, underlining the style of the 70s and 80s.

Munnabhai Chale Amerika


Munna Bhai Chale Amerika is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and directed by Rajkumar Hirani. It is the third Munna Bhai film (after Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. and Lage Raho Munna Bhai) all of which follow the comic adventures of Munna Bhai or "Murli Prasad Sharma" (Sanjay Dutt) and his sidekick, "Circuit" (Arshad Warsi).

A 2-minute teaser trailer was released in early 2010 which depicts Munna and Circuit learning English. They ask each other to translate the meanings of various sentences of Hindi to English, but get them wrong (they think it is right) to comic relief. For example, Circuit asks Munna in Hindi "Bro, how do you say 'Move aside, let the air come in' in English?", to which Munna replies "Move sideways, let the air-force come in", and both laugh. And, it is later revealed that they are going to America, hence they learnt English.

Milenge Milenge which seems to be inspired by the 2001 romantic comedy Serendipity, is directed by Satish Kaushik and stars Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in their fifth film together after Imtiaz Ali's Jab We Met (2007).Other members from the cast include Satish Shah, Aarti Chhabria, and Delnaaz Paul.
Magic happens, if you let it; and sometimes even fate or destiny, or whatever you want to call it, steps in to lend a hand. But when it concerns love, and finding that special person you're going to spend the rest of your life with, should you risk tempting fate with a test of that love or what is seemingly meant to be, or should you just follow your apparent destiny and embrace it? Such are the questions two people must face and answer in the romantic comedy/drama MILENGE MILENGE This charming romantic comedy has all the right ingredients and serves up a dollop of sugary romance and slapstick fun.
Amit (Shahid Kapoor) and Priya (Kareena Kapoor) meet at a Youth festival in Bangkok. Priya is a girl with substance, exactly opposite the teens and college going students of today's time. A pure romantic at heart she has this image of her would be life partner, who she expects would be a teetotaler, a guy who doesn't smoke and who doesn't lie. Amit is the type of guy who is totally opposite of what Priya wants from her life partner. He drinks alcohol like a fish, lies on the slightest pretext and is a chain smoker. Their world collides when Amit by chance lays his hands on Priya's personal diary and learns of her likes and dislikes. He poses as her dream mate by giving her a totally different picture of himself. Priya gets instantly attracted to Amit, and they spend days together cavorting around Bangkok City together coming closer to each other by the second. At the end of the festival when they are preparing to come back to Delhi, Priya discovers the copy of her diary in Amit's room. She realizes that Amit has made a fool of her and goes to confront him. Amit is at a local bar with his friends. He tells his friends that although he has cheated Priya, he is truly in love with her. He tells them that he will become the guy that Priya thinks he is and tells them that he will have a last glass of beer and the last cigarette of his life. As he lights up a cigarette and takes a swig from his glass, Priya appears in front of him and hell breaks loose. With a broken heart she confronts him and breaks the relationship. Amit tries to explain himself but Priya totally ignores him. He tries to regain her trust by telling her that they are destined to be together. Priya decides that if it is fate that they should be together, then they will find each other in Delhi again, although both do not know each other's whereabouts in Delhi.

Years go by and we introduce a new Amit as he comes back to Delhi from USA after getting his business management degree. He has gone through a complete personality change. He has become the man that Priya dreamed about. On the other hand Priya has also moved on in life. She has now become a successful music video director and is in a relationship with a pop singer. Both of them are about to be married, but after all these years, they still have this nagging feeling that the other was his/her one true love. Of course fate conspires to bring them back together (after about a dozen very interesting near misses) as they each simultaneously undertake one last attempt to find one another just before they get married to someone else. So is all of life pre-determined, even who our soul mate is? That's the theme explored in MILENGE MILENGE, a delightful fairytale of a romantic comedy that makes you fall in love all over again.

Prince stars Vivek Oberoi,Nandana Sen, Neeru Singh and Aruna Shields in the lead roles.It is directed by Kookie V Gulati and the music for the film is composed by Sachin Gupta. Raavan


Raavan stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vikram in the lead roles while Govinda, Ravi Kishan, Nikhil Dwivedi, and Priyamani play key supporting roles.It is written and directed by Mani Ratnam.The music is composed by Academy Awards winner A. R. Rahman.It is simultaneously being made in Tamil as Raavana with a slightly different cast.The film will also be dubbed into Telugu and other regional languages.

The highly anticipated soundtrack of the movie will be done by Academy Award Wnner and Mani Ratnam's usual assosciate A. R. Rahman with lyrics by Gulzar. According to unofficial sources, Rahman has reused two songs he composed for the shelved Aamir Khan film Lajjo and a Qawwali composed for Jodhaa Akbar which was not used in the film. There are also reports that Mani Ratnam recently shot a big budget song Kata Kata Mara Mara with 500 dancers in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.Asha Bhonsle have recently recorded a song for Raavana. A song titled Pairon Pe Jannat Hai sung by Lucky Ali have leaked through net which is claimed as a song from Raavan.However Rahman claimed that no songs have leaked from Raavana.

Mani Ratnam has reportedly shot a film that is a modern day version and a loose adaptation of the great Indian epic Ramayana in which the wife of Lord Rama, Sita was abducted by the demon (Rakshasa) king of Lanka, Ravana. It is said that Raavan will have a new twist on the Ramayana.

According to the official website, Raavan is not a story but a world. Dev (Vikram), a policeman, falls in love with Ragini (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), a classical dancer. They are both unconventional. They get married and he takes her to his new post in Lal Maati, a small town in northern India. Lal Maati is a town where the word of law is not the police but Beera (Abhishek Bachchan), a tribal who has, over the years shifted the power from the ruling to the have-nots of the area. Dev knows that the key to bringing order to any place is to vanquish the big fish, in this case - Beera. In one stroke Dev manages to rip open Beera's world, and set in motion a chain of events which will claim lives, change fortunes. Beera, injured but enraged hits back starting a battle that draws Dev, Beera and Ragini into the jungle. The jungle which is dense, confusing and scary. And in this journey they must confront their own truth. A journey which will test their beliefs, convictions and emotions. Emotions which are as scary and confusing as the forest. The forest becomes the setting for the battle. The battle between the good and the evil, between Dev and Beera, between Ram and Raavan. When the lines dividing the good and the evil starts to blur, whose side will you take? When hate turns to love and good starts looking as evil which side will you battle for. Guddu (Shahid) works as a trainee in a small NGO firm in the city. He hopes to climb up to the top of the corporate ladder. He wants to be a bona fide member of the burgeoning Indian middle class. His career has only just begun though and the road to bourgeoisie is both long and arduous. Yet Guddu is at it. He is honest, diligent and careful. Especially careful.Charlie makes a living hedging bets at the race course. He moves around the plush hordes of the rich and famous at the races. For him this is just a way to make quick money and he dreams of becoming a legitimate bookie one day.

Charlie (Shahid) is street smart, wily and brave. And only for himself.The brothers don't like each other. They believe they have nothing in common, not even their speech defect. While Guddu stammers, especially when he is nervous, Charlie has a lisp. The brothers have built their lives so that their paths don't ever cross. They believe it's only a question of time before they are out of each other's sight forever. All that is about to change. In one day. A day of reckoning. An unusual day; just right for the unusual events that unfold in its course.

Charlie is having a bad day at the office. He has practically bet everything he possesses on a coveted derby race. Three Idiots is directed by Rajkumar Hirani, starring Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor, and Boman Irani in pivotal roles.3 Idiots has become the "highest grossing Bollywood movie of all time." The film set a box office record for the Indian film industry, grossing Rs 400 crore (US$ 86 million) worldwide.It is expected to be the first Indian film to be officially released on YouTube, within 12 weeks of releasing in theatres on March 25, 2010.

The film's soundtrack is composed by Shantanu Moitra with lyrics penned by Swanand Kirkire.The film also went on to win many awards, winning six Filmfare Awards including best film and best director, and ten Star Screen Awards.

The film is rumoured to be loosely based on a famous novel, Five Point Someone by Indian writer Chetan Bhagat, though it is denied by Hirani. Writer Chetan Bhagat has stated that he was not involved in the scriptwriting in any way.

The film is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who has a long time association with Hirani and has produced all his previous directorial ventures, whilst Abhijat Joshi and Raju Hirani have written the screenplay. Ishqiya

Ishqiya stars Arshad Warsi, Vidya Balan and Naseeruddin Shah in the lead roles. The film is directed by debutant Abhishek Chaubey and is produced by Raman Maroo and Vishal Bharadwaj.The music is composed by Vishal Bhardwaj and the lyrics are penned by Gulzar.

Set in eastern Uttar Pradesh, the movie is a tale of romance between individuals caught in a web of crime, suspense, passion and deceit. Two thieves, Khalujan (Naseeruddin Shah) and Babban (Arshad Warsi), are on the run from their boss,Mushtaq (Salman Shahid).They seek refuge with an old friend but instead meet his widow, Krishna (Vidya Balan). As they plan their escape, their time spent together draws the duo to her, Khalujan with his vision of old-fashioned love and Babban with his lascivious heart.

The reception to the music has been positive with "Dil To Bachcha Hai" and "Ibn-E-Batuta" being instant chartbusters. The track " Badi Dheere Jali ", based on an Indian Classical Raaga "Lalat" and the ghazal " Ab Mujhe Koi " are sung by Rekha Bhardwaj. Her rusty voice perfectly suits the songs

Kites

Kites starring Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Kangana Ranaut, Kabir Bedi and Luce Rains is a bi-lingual film (Hindi & English) directed by Anurag Basu, and produced by Rakesh Roshan.

Kites is about an Indian boy’s romantic affair with a Latina girl and their predicament as they do not understand each other’s language. Hrithik Roshan plays a salsa teacher. Kangana Ranaut plays a very rich girl and is shown as Hrithik’s dance student. The story is set in Las Vegas.


In the course of learning Salsa from him, she falls madly in love with him. But then a twist in the tale takes place and the romantic story takes a thriller turn. Barbara Mori plays a Latina who speaks only Spanish which Hrithik can’t speak a word of. So he speaks to her in Hindi and yet the two communicate and fall madly in love. But then something happens that forces the two to split and that’s where Kangana Ranaut steps in.

In the harsh terrain of the Mexican desert, a mortally wounded man is left for death in the heat of the desert sun. This is Jai (Hrithik Roshan) - once a street smart, carefree, young guy and now a wanted man.The only thing that keeps him alive is the quest to find the love of his life, Natasha (Barbara Mori). A woman, engaged to another man, but surely destined for Jai. A woman, who comes into his life like a bolt of lightning, and changes it forever.

My name is Khan is based upon a true story.It is directed by Karan Johar, co-produced by Johar (Dharma Productions) and Shahrukh Khan, (Red Chillies Entertainment) has a screenplay by Shibani Bathija, and stars Shahrukh Khan and Kajol. The musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composed the film's score.

Synopsis: Rizwan Khan (Tanay Chheda), a Muslim child who has Asperger syndrome, grew up with his mother (Zarina Wahab) in the Borivali section of Mumbai.As an adult (Shahrukh Khan), Rizwan falls in love with a Hindu single mother, Mandira (Kajol) who lives in San Francisco.

While not focusing on the events of 9/11,the storyline explores the period afterwards. At that time, authorities arrest and detain Rizwan, after interpreting the visible aspects of his condition as "suspicious" behavior.After his arrest, he meets Radha (Sheetal Menon), a therapist who helps him overcome the ordeal. Rizwan then begins a journey to find and meet President Barack Obama (Christopher B. Duncan) in order to clear his name.

Karthik Calling Karthik is written and directed by Vijay Lalwani and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under the banner of Excel Entertainment. The film stars Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Ram Kapoor and Shefali Shah play supporting roles in the film.The film has music given by the trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy and lyrics is penned by Javed Akhtar. The background score is composed by Midival Punditz and Karsh Kale.

Karthik Calling Karthik is the story of an introvert called Karthik, played by Farhan Akhtar, whose life changes with the help of someone who also claims to be Karthik. It is a journey of this man's victory against all odds. Deepika Padukone plays a pivotal role in the film.

In an effort to prepare for his role as loner introvert Karthik, Farhan Akhtar isolated himself at home and school and turned off his phone.He also learned to solve the Rubik's Cube, an activity which his character completes in only one try.

Rock On

Excel Entertainment's Rock On !! was released on August 29, 2008. The film will mark the debut of director Farhan Akhtar as an actor.The cast also includes Arjun Rampal , Purab Kohli, Luke Kenny and television actress Prachi Desai. The music has been scored by Shankar Ehsaan Loy,while the lyrics are being written by none other Javed Akhtar and the film is directed by Abhishek Kapoor ( His directorial debut was Sohail Khan starrer 'Aryan').

Rock On revolves around an unsuccessful rock band ( "Magik" (formed in 1998) who reunite in 2008). Ten years later, the four members of the band bump into each other again, and set on a journey together.

The winner of seven Filmfare awards,Rock On was critically acclaimed and a box office success.The cast of Rock On was featured on the cover of the September 2008 issue of Rolling Stone (India).Its screenplay has also been added to the Academy Film Archive.
